(PRWEB) January 13, 2008 -- eyefortransport recently surveyed over 500 trucking and delivery fleet executives in North America to establish how they were employing wireless and mobile technologies in their own operations and what returns they were generating. The resulting 'Green 'Wireless & Mobile Technology for Trucking & delivery Fleets Report' revealed that financial and public relations ROI means that green issues are fast becoming the No. 1 priority for companies of all sizes.
With nearly 100 percent of North America's Trucking fleets employing some form of wireless & mobile technology, and many companies using third or fourth generation technologies, the focus for fleets not to whether to invest in technology, but how to upgrade their existing systems and learn from mistakes they have already made. With this in mind, eyefortransport recently asked respondents to pinpoint what problems they were facing, the key drivers for investing in wireless technology, what they were trying to achieve with new investment.
The timely industry report that resulted revealed how respondents' wireless investments had actually performed and what kind of ROI they were generating from different implementations. Due to the importance placed on track and trace solutions, it was not surprising to see that this area produced one of the highest ROI with 62 percent of respondents seeing a high return. Even those applications, such as security, yard and dock operations and engine monitoring, that weren't high on the priorities list still produced a decent ROI for between 70 percent and 85 percent of the respondents.
