High Performance Wireless Bridge with TX/RX Diversity and Serial Over IP

San Luis Obispo, CA (PRWEB) August 30, 2007 -- HauteSpot Networks Corporation, announced the immediate availability of the new HauteRouteTM HR-IXPSXPs wireless bridge. The HR-IXPSXPs builds upon the existing HR-IXPSXP, by adding two key advanced features: receive and transmit diversity; and Serial Over IP support.

The HR-IXPSXPs is designed for use in applications where wireless link stability is critical, such as in moving vehicles or where links are weak. By enabling receive diversity, the HR-IXPSXPs will analyze the receive signal strength from each of the two antenna ports and will select the best port. If the receive signal changes, due to movement, interference or changes in environment, the HR-IXPSXPs will switch over dynamically to the best antenna at that moment. By enabling transmit diversity, the HR-IXPSXPs will have the transmit signal follow the receive signal, assuming that the best path out is the same as the best path in.

By using two antennas which take advantage of either space diversity (physical antenna separation) or polarization diversity (horizontal or vertical), the HR-IXPSXPs can overcome issues such as temporary obstruction, movement, transient noise and other variables that would effect other wireless solutions.

The second major feature of the HR-IXPSXPs is the implementation of Serial Over IP. By enabling the Serial Over IP feature, the HR-IXPSXPs can be configured to operate as a data terminal or data device in a serial link, at speeds up to 115,200kbps. Serial Over IP allows for remote control of camera pan-tilt-zoom, industrial application control, or any other application where serial communications is required. The female RS-232 DB-9 connector can be easily converted to RS-422 using low cost adapters.

The Serial Over IP capability of the HR-IXPSXPs is implemented over IP multicast, allowing not only point to point, but point to multipoint serial communications. Users can monitor serial activity from a third HR-IXPSXPs unit for troubleshooting, or the same command can be sent to multiple HR-IXPSXPs at one time.

The HR-IXPSXPs uses the HauteSpot Networks HauteLineTM protocol to achieve the streaming of standard definition and high definition video, with low latency and constant delay variation at rates up to 65Mbps. It is a completely modular platform which allows for various radio modules supporting a variety of unlicensed, government only, or export radio frequencies, and comes in both outdoor and indoor/portable enclosures. It is full TCP/IP compliant and supports IP Multicast over UDP.
