People Can Now Become Internet Stars by Flashing Their Photos Taken with Celebrities
TORONTO, ON (PRWeb) March 12, 2007 -- A new concept to user-interactive blogs has hit the internet recently. CelebAndMe.com introduces their idea to weblogging involving people and their star struck obsession with today's celebrities. Free of charge, the site entices users to upload photos of themselves "posing with the stars" to show off to the world. One could label this a reality website. Interaction is encouraged; one can browse around, make comments and see the stars, sometimes not in their best appearance.
When asked how this idea developed, co-creator Jordan Fry said, "We were just sitting around one day, and went to Google to try and search for what we called, 'real people with real celebrities.' Nothing was found so we decided to take the initiative and create it ourselves." Fry later commented, "I've been to sites like Perez Hilton, and TMZ, but there was no site like this to be found, and so it is truly one of a kind."
CelebAndMe.com is initially advertising incentives to increase usage and stimulate further interest in their site. They currently utilize weekly contests, some with prizes, and more intense offerings are contemplated in the near future.
"We hope to get our users really involved in the site. We want to create a scavenger hunt type contest where our users will have a checklist of certain celebrities, and must try to capture pictures with them. Obviously this type of contest would take place over a lengthy period of time, and a larger prize would be offered."
The website is obviously in its infancy and appears to have an interesting future with the current blog trend. It adheres to the "kiss" (keep it simple stupid) formula. Navigation through the site is a breeze. Their comments section is brilliant in allowing third party criticism and dialogue. With photographs of fans their stars, the hits will be coming fast and often. Watch this one carefully!
